We're based in Wollert, on Melbourne's northern edge. Everything we install, we install ourselves — no subcontracted crews, no scripts, no pressure to sign today.
Handy Volt started because too much of our electrical work was fixing someone else's rushed installation — undersized cabling, isolators failing after two summers, arrays pointed the wrong way because it made the quote look cheaper.
We thought the work deserved to be done properly the first time. So we built a company around the parts of the job most operators treat as overhead: the site assessment, the design, the paperwork, and picking up the phone years later.
Today Handy Volt Pty Ltd designs and installs solar, battery storage and heat pump hot water for households and small businesses right across Melbourne and regional Victoria — as a licensed electrical contractor, not a sales channel with a van.
If the payback doesn't work for your household, we'll say so. A sale that leaves someone disappointed in three years isn't worth having.
The people who quote your job are the people who install it. Nothing gets handed to a contractor you've never spoken to.
Every install to AS/NZS requirements and manufacturer specification, with the documentation to prove it when you sell the house.
Same local number, same team. Warranty claims are handled by us with the manufacturer, not left for you to chase.
We're a northern-suburbs business, but our vans cover most of the state's populated corners.

No obligation, no hard sell. Just a proper conversation about whether solar, storage or a heat pump is the right next move for your place.
