Solar array installed on a Melbourne home by Handy Volt
Solar power systems

Solar sized for your bill, not for a brochure

We design arrays around your roof's real orientation and shading, and around the hours your household actually draws power — so more of what you generate ends up in your own home.

Typical systems

Where most Victorian homes land

Indicative packages to give you a starting point. Your quoted system is designed from a site assessment, not a menu.

Small home Solar panels installed across a suburban roofline

6.6 kW

The classic starting point for a couple or small family with a 5 kW inverter and around 16 panels.

  • ~9,000 kWh generated per year
  • Suits a $350–$650 quarterly bill
  • Fits most single-storey rooflines
  • Battery-ready inverter option
Family home Large solar array on a Melbourne family home

10–13 kW

For households with ducted heating and cooling, a pool, an EV, or someone working from home all week.

  • ~14,000–18,000 kWh per year
  • Suits a $650–$1,100 quarterly bill
  • Multi-string layouts for split roofs
  • Comfortably supports a battery later
Commercial Wide solar installation across a long roof section

20–100 kW

Warehouses, workshops, clinics and offices where the load runs squarely through the middle of the day.

  • Three-phase commercial inverters
  • Demand-profile modelling included
  • Tilt frames for flat roofs
  • Depreciation & STC/LGC guidance

What's in the price

One number, everything included

No line items appearing after the deposit. If the job needs it, it's in the quote.

  • Tier-1 panels & hybrid-ready inverter. Brands with genuine Australian service presence and parts availability.
  • Full mounting system. Rails, feet and flashings rated for your roof type and wind region, not the cheapest kit available.
  • DC isolators & compliant cabling. Installed to AS/NZS 5033, with conduit runs planned to stay out of sight.
  • Grid pre-approval & connection. We lodge with your distributor and follow it through to meter reconfiguration.
  • STC discount applied. Assigned by us, deducted on the quote, so there's nothing to claim back later.
  • Monitoring set up on site. Configured on your phone and explained before we leave.

The parts of a solar job you can't see from the driveway

Shading analysis

We model the arc of the sun across your roof through the year, including the neighbour's gum tree, before deciding on string layout or optimisers.

Load-curve matching

Your interval data tells us when you actually draw power. The array is oriented to line up with it — often more west than a default north-facing layout.

Roof & structure checks

Tile, Colorbond, Klip-Lok or slate — each gets the right mounting hardware, and we check batten condition before anything is fixed down.

Switchboard capacity

Plenty of installs stall because the board can't take the extra circuit. We assess it up front and quote any upgrade in the same number.

Battery-ready by default

Even if storage isn't in the budget today, we specify a hybrid inverter and leave the cabling path so adding a battery later isn't a rebuild.

Ongoing servicing

Annual health checks, isolator replacements and inverter fault call-outs — including on systems another company installed.
